Strat Plus Locking tuners

I recently acquired a great Strat Plus with the locking tuners. My issue is that I know nothing about these. How are they utilized, maintained...everything. Does anyone have any good links that discuss these in detail?

The tuners are made by Schaller, Germany and are copies of Spercel Trim-lock tuners. To open the string whole, loose the thump-srew on the back of the peg-head, insert the string, pull it slightly tight and fasten the thump-srew. Due to the clamping of the string you should not open and close too often (while taking off the string) or the string might break.
