Re: silvertone guitar???

HI,

Silvertone's were distributed by Sears in the 50's and 60's; they were made by either Harmony, Valco, Danelectro or Kay.

If you could provide a model number that would help greatly, but here goes:

1950’s (all single cutaways)

1300 single cutaway; has a single coil “lipstick tube” shaped pickup; probably made by Danelectro; COPPER
1301 same as 1300 but with two pickups; COPPER
1303 same as 1301 but BLACK
1305 same as 1300 but with three pickups; WHITE/BLACK SUNBURST
1317 BLACK, single cutaway, one lipstick pickup and a trapezoid bridge
1321 BRONZE, same as 1317
1319 BLACK, same at 1317 but with two pickups
1323 BRONZE, same as 1319
1357 single cutaway, single lipstick pickup; RED or YELLOW with BLACK sides; BRONZE with green sides; CORAL with white sides; TAN with ginger sides
1359 same as 1357 but with two pickups
1375 single cutaway, lightning bolt under logo, MAROON
1377 same as 1375 but with two pickups

1960’s

1417 single cutaway, single lipstick pickup, trapezoid bridge, tuners are six on a side like the Fender Strats, BRONZE
1419 same as 1417 but BLACK
1415 same as 1417 but pickguard is cut in half circle around lipstick pickup

I’ll stop here since your seem to think it’s a 50’s model anyway, here are the remaining model numbers: All double cutaways like the Gibson SG except where noted.

1448, 1449, 1450, 1451, 1452, 1457, 1480 (single cutaway)

The most these guitars are worth is $375 in “Near Mint” condition, they decline as follows:

Excellent Plus Condition is $325
Excellent condition is $260
Very Good Plus is $220
Very Good is $180
Good is $150
