MIDI questions for the Boss GT-3

I'm currently using a Boss GT-3 for both saxophone and EWI. my Akai EWI module has a MIDI IN and OUT, as does the GT-3...my question is: i'm interested in running my EWI through the MIDI jacks while having my remote sax mic running through the Input 1/4" on the GT-3. i''m not really looking to switch my EWI patches via the GT-3...i just want to be able to run both at the same time through the same pedal without a switcher box (thus giving me the stereo Output to the board for both instruments). is this possible?
