RECORDING GUITAR DISTORTION ON COMPUTER!

Hi, seems as though i have spent days trying to get a good recording of a distorted guitar. I am using cakewalk and every time i record distortion it comes out really fuzzy. I have tried my line in, mic, line out from my amp, micing up the amp, WHAT NOW!!!????

my levels seem fine too not red lining at all. Cant b the sound card cos its top of the range. PLEASE can some1 help me!

The only reason for extra distortion on a guitar recording,is that the levels are to hot/or overdriven.First of all,distorted guitars are probably the most difficult thing to record well.what are you using for an interface?I know personally between the last 4 soundblaster's,there is a world of difference between their ability to handle distorted guitars.
