Pearl Les Paul Copy

Posted by Jim Hendricks on Wed, 05/07/03 - 16:24:37.

Hi guys

Can anyone help me with information on a Les Paul Copy I have just purchased. It was apparently made by Pearl (the famous drum makers) in the 1970's.

You can see a pic of it here:

and here

I am particularly interested in history as Pearl have no information and also if someone knows what the value may be.

It is a really well made guitar that is for sure

Cheers guys

Jim

Re: Pearl Les Paul Copy

I'd like to know more about these as well, and would buy one in a heartbeat. Oddly enough however, I've only ever seen one in my entire life, and it was one of the very best feeling and best sounding guitars I've ever played. It was finished in a beautiful high gloss black with complete multi-layer bindings from end to end, and closely modeled after an early Gibson Les Paul Custom. It belonged to a guy I worked with in 1981 who claimed his father had picked it up for $700 and gave it to him as a gift.
