Can I use one 180watt speaker with a 100watt mesa head?

I have a mesa boogie dual rectifier 100 watt tube amp. I have no cabinet but I do have one 180 watt speaker. Is it at all possible to run an amp through only one speaker? I have the wires, the input jack, and a box for the speaker. I'm just not sure about the Ohmz and I dont want to fry my amp. Any help out there? Does it have to be a guitar cab speaker? The speaker just says "roadgear 180watt rg12" I'm guessing some kind of car stereo speaker. Is this a bad idea?
Thanks

if you dont know what you are doing then leave it alone, you should match the impedence (ohms) if you dont then you run a serious risk of blowing the output transformer of your amp, very expensive!! you can run it on a single speaker as long as the impedence is correct, and if its not a guitar speaker it will sound like shit. buy yourself a capable guitar cab, its the least your Mesa deserves.
