I am buying a bass amp and I was wondering what would be a good wattage for a bass amp if I was to use it for live performances

Size and number of speakers is more important. I used to use a 200w amp, but it worked as 100w on it's own, and used a separate speaker to achieve the full 200w.
This is quite powerful, you could probably get away with less, but you need a couple of big speakers to really pump it out and to get a nice clear sound.

how the hell can it be 'any wattage'! so u think that you can perform with a 2 watt amp. fool. to perform u'd need about 150 watt and it would make it much better if you could put urself through a pa system aswell.
