Volume fading on my Marshall Artist 3203

Posted by Jeff A on Sat, 12/25/04 - 10:52:56.

I have an Artist 3203 stack, and just today the volume started fading in and out, and seems to be getting progressivly worse. I put all new tubes in and left on stand-by for an hour or so, then I tried it again, it played great for about 10 minutes and started fading again. Anybody have any ideas? Also the amp still hums a little with it in stand-by. Would be great-ful for any help. Thanks!!

Re: Volume fading on my Marshall Artist 3203

I have one doing EXACTLY the same thing, also 'gritty' pots & a loose sounding jack. I suspect a themal intermittant ground fault, but have not found the problem yet. Good Luck & if you find the cause, please let us know.
