I think the Marshall JCM800 2210 100 watt dual channel with reverb is one of the best. I also think the Marshall SLP rates up there too.

i would go for the 50watt head the JCM800 lead, with a 2×12 cab loaded with 1xgreenback celestion and 1xvintage 30 celestion, or vamp it up with the 100watt lead into a 4×12 with 2xgreenbacks and 2x vintage 30’s, that combination is vintage valve tone heaven.

thanks lee.is that 2×12 cabinet chassis made by marshall? also one of your last words on the 100 watt amp was "valve" does that refer to solid state amplification?

with the 100 watt head i would go for the 4×12 with 2 greens and 2 v30’s, this will handle a 100watt head, the vintage 30’s are rated at 60watts each and the greens at 25 each, the total power handling will be restricted to 100watts.

marshal make a 2×12 (jcm900 1936) with 2xgreens or 2xvintage 30’s, you have to buy the odd speaker and install it yourself, the valve thing was merly my impression of that setup, as you know both those amps are all valve, and i think with that setup you get a great classic rock sound.

thanks guys im still wondering if this 130 watt cyber twin head will blow the 4 vintage 30’s here(doesnt sound like 130 watts)// wow 25 watt greenbacks w/ vintage 30’s on a 100 watt amp talk about pushing air…jimi must have toasted many a speaker
