FOR SALE: '93 Guild Brian May Signature Red Special - EXC!!!
FOR SALE: '93 Guild Brian May Signature (BM01) Red Special - Excellent Condition
Hey, I figured I'd put this out there in case you know anybody that's looking, but I'm selling my red '93 Guild BM01 Signature (actually listed on www.brianmaycentral.com on the serial number chart - BM20323) - it's all original, includes original case, tremolo arm, owner's manual, warranty/registration cards, and case key. The guitar itself is in excellent condition - has been played and is not a collector's guitar, but it is in awesome shape. If you know anybody that might be interested, please feel free to forward them my email at [email protected] and I can answer any questions they might have - or if you wouldn't mind posting it somewhere for people to see, I'd appreciate it. I'd love to sell it to a BM fan or somebody familiar with the guitar. I have a link on ebay w/ photos for anybody that would like to see it - if you or anyone is interested, email me for the link.
Thanks a ton!
MJ

How does it rate against the Burns BM sig?
The Burns guitars compared to this run of the '93 Guild are complete washups. The Burns is made with cheap materials, the specs are not as close (fretboard, frets, bridge, tremolo, neck), and they don't play well at all. Buying a Burns over a '93 Guild is like buying a Squire Tele over an original '52 Tele - a huge mistake...
I can speak like this about the guitar because I've played them all: Burns, Dillon, RS, Guild, etc - none of the other brands come close to the Guild - even the '84 Guild run is inferior to the '93 we're speaking about.
Additionally, the condition of this '93 Guild is incredible...all original everything...beautiful looking and playin guitar.
Thanks!
I once played a Burns Brian May guitar. It was hideous.
In what way was it hideous? ive seen the new Burns BM's packages for sale which includes the guitar, a spare set of strings, a queen video, a sixpence, a big hairy perm wig, a blow up doll that vaugley resembles Anita Dobson, but looks more like Brian May with boobs and an open mouth, and a pair of clogs. Just goes to show, you need to expierence May totaly, not just the guitar. Great marketing, very clever.
Think about it...
 Lee, and a voucher for one portion of "Fried Chicken"
Seriously, the guitar just felt WRONG. I can't put my finger on what it was exactly. I didn't feel comfortable in my hands and it didn't particularly inspire me to want to play it.
glw, I'm not a qualified six-stringer, but that may have been the most serious reason for not liking it. Certainly burgers up my playing.
D'Oh! You know what I'm saying. It just felt horrible.
