    Hello,

I own an Ibanez Artcore (am73) that exists with, or without a bigsby.

Mine has none, but I am thinking about putting a bigsby on now.

    My questions are :
    – First I don’t know where to find these Ibanez bigsby, if someone could help ? 🙂
    – Is it a delicate operation ?
    – Does the bigsby can alter the sound ? I read once that a guitar with bigsby has less sustain. Is that true ?

    Thank you very much
    🙂

      Hello

Thank you very much for your very good advice.
      So I won’t change anything then…

May I ask another question : I am looking for a couple of pickups for this guitar (or only the bridge one ?), so I am searching an idea like the couple SH1/SH2 of Seymour Duncan, but a little cheaper. Good for jazz, jazz-rock anyway.

WOuld you have an idea ?

      Hi steph_gtr,

My advice is to abandon thoughts of putting a bigsby on your AM73. I say this for a couple of reasons. First, if you look at the placement of the bigsby on the originals (AM73T) you’ll see that it is placed further back than the stop tail. Are you going to be happy with 2 filled holes on the face of your guitar? Also, the AM73T uses an Ibanez version of the bigsby that is stamped with an Ibanez logo. It’s going to be a challenge to find a match. The bottom line is that if you modify your guitar, you just lowered it’s resale value by 40% or so. I say if you want an Artcore with a bigsby, sell your AM73 and use the money to buy a AM73T. You’ll be money ahead in the long run. That’s my opinion, SB
