Gig-FX has announced that the MegaWah pedal is in beta model testing stage right now and that full production will begin soon.

The MegaWah includes five effects in one and will be ready to order by mid-January 2006.

    Included:

    • A classic wah plus adjustable filters and EQ’s to get the sound of your choice from a Cry to a throbbing deep wah that can give a guitar the funkiest, heaviest wah you can imagine
    • An auto-wah with controllable frequency. Set the wah to the tempo of the song and wah away rhythmically with no effort.
    • A trig-wah triggered by a note – play a note and it wahs – no foot effort required – for fast licks, this is an unbelievably funky sound
    • Stereo Wah. Stereo in and stereo out – it wahs in unison both sides – twice as much wah-appeal – but then – REVERSE the wah on one side so one side wah’s while the other side haw’s if you see what we mean…makes a chorus sound boring.
    • A volume / gain pedal with up to +12dB of gain, controllable by the volume pedal

For those concerned it’s just another Wah, the Gig-FX website says “a classic wah sound is just the start. You can adjust the filter, tone, bass response and envelope to produce the ultimate in wah sounds. Fed up with trying to master the wah pedal? Turn it on auto-wah and set the tempo as you wish. Don’t want to be limited by tempo and want every note to be wah’d? Set it to trig-wah and every note will trigger a wah so you can fire your synth player.”

You can visit the Gig-FX Booth 1338 in Hall E at NAMM to hear it and try it out for yourself.
