    – Press Release

Wolfmother have nailed down US tour dates supporting their forthcoming EP, Dimensions (Modular) out 1/31 and debut LP, Wolfmother (Modular/Interscope) out 5/2.

Myles Heskett, Chris Ross and Andrew Stockdaleare the key holders to all
things Wolf … they write their songs jointly while contributing drums,
    bass/keyboards and guitar/vocals respectively.

NME says Wolfmother are “Australia’s most ‘fro’d up and best new band.” After years of anonymous
jamming, the Sydney based trio finally emerged from their caves in early 2004.
The ink started flowing and fans starting showing when they released their
debut, self-recorded, EP later that year. Since then they’ve cut their teeth
on the road in Australia, the UK and the US. When it comes to the stage,
Wolfmother are already pros — and it shows.

WOLFMOTHER’S new EP, Dimensions, is a fusion of freaked-out jamming,
delicate melodies and gallant rock riffage. The result: a big damn beast of a
sound that’s out stateside on January 31. Their forthcoming self-titled debut
full-length, Wolfmother, will follow in May. The disc has already made a
splash in the band’s homeland, winning the Album of the Year award from
Australia’s national alternative radio network, Triple J, going top five and
quickly being certified platinum. It’s now high time for the threesome’s
debut to make more star-spangled news.

The new EP and the album are both drawn from the same sessions that
happened in LA last summer with producer Dave Sardy (Dandy Warhols, Oasis,
    Autolux, Jet, Helmet.)

The process began with six weeks of rehearsals in an old abandoned
Hollywood recording studio called Cherokee where Pink Floyd had recorded “The
Wall.” Full of fish tacos, the hoard then moved their operation o’er to the
legendary studio, Sound City (birthplace of Nevermind and Rumours) and sunk
their teeth into actual recording. In just two weeks there the Wolfies
captured the live-style backbone of reckless abandon and glorious imperfection
and bottled it up for Wolfmother. Several weeks of tweaking and pinball
playing then followed elsewhere before all was declared “done.”

The album is full of simple philosophies for complex times; there’s a
getaway factor at play, thematic escapist imagery taking you away. The
Wolfies deliver love and parallel dimensions through a lava lamp haze, but
this is no exercise in parody. This is the real shit.

The band will personally accompany their US EP release with a
tour — straight off their keynote performance at Australia’s legendary Big
    Day Out festival in January.
