could my pickups be damaged at all?

ok, on my guitar, i had to fix my nut and i started it but i didnt have the right tools until 2 days later. so i loosened the strings when i started to try and fix it and i didnt tighten them back up until it was fixed so for 2 days straight the strings were on the magnets of the pickups. could the have gotten damaged at all?

No NO nO NO no no no no never no.
how is a string touching a magnet going to damage it? thats all your pickup is, a magnet with some copper wire around it.
so the answer is No no No no no.

haha, ok thanks. but somone told me at the guitar store if they touch for a long time eventually the pickups will go dead.

Might be an idea to fix the nut of the guitar store person, too :lol:
