    – Press Release

Gibson Guitar, the world’s leading guitar manufacturer will showcase several new models at Europe’s largest annual international trade show, Musikmesse. Over four days the music industry and members of the public will have the opportunity to visit the exclusive Gibson Guitar exhibit located in Hall 4.2, Booth E11. The show is open to registered guests March 29th through April 1st and open to the public only on April 1, 2006.

Gibson USA will be showcasing the latest selection of guitars, including the much anticipated Gibson Les Paul Vixen and Gibson SG Goddess models, both specifically aimed at female guitarists. Both models are high-quality, professional guitars with lighter bodies and slimmer necks, available in such eye-catching new colors as Ice Burst, Coral, and Corona Yellow. With lightweight designs and fast-action necks, the models feature powerful 490R and 498T humbuckers for all the performance and tone that Gibson is known for.

Made by musicians for musicians, the guitars of the GT series are tough, road-ready, and versatile. Built to maximize the tonal options available to a working guitarist, the GT’s feature push/pull pots on coil-split 490R and 498T humbuckers, independent volume controls in the middle position, and a high-pass tone filter. Add to that sonic palette a dual truss rod with extra neck reinforcement, a Neutrik jack lock, and Dunlop strap locks, and the GTs prove to be some of the most durable and adaptable guitars ever built.

The New Century guitars which will be shown at the Gibson Guitar exhibit, are available in Les Paul, SG, Explorer, and Flying V body styles, all complete with full-faced mirror pickguards to catch stage lights. At the other end of the spectrum are the none-more-black Menaces, available as Les Paul’s or SG’s, with brass knuckle and fist inlays and tribal body routings. Both series offer total performance instruments for the most extreme players.

Tobias and Valley Arts, the company’s quality bass guitars will exhibit at Musikmesse and offer several models for visitors to experience.

Epiphone, will be exhibiting seven dynamic new models that combine tradition with innovation. The models include an ES-175 reissue, Worn Firebird Studio complete with Steinberger 40:1 direct-drive tuners, Les Paul Standard Plain Top, Les Paul Special Bass, a stunning solid acoustic Masterbilt EF-500RCCE, the MB-100 ‘first pick’ banjo and a PR-4E Acoustic/Electric Player Pack.

In addition the Epiphone Guitar of the Month promotion sees a brand-new range of limited-edition instruments. Every quarter Epiphone will launch three models in strictly limited numbers. Each will be based on an existing Epiphone design, but with a unique twist that makes these custom guitars a genuine collector’s item.

Gibson Custom has launched the new Inspired By series of guitars. The Frampton LP Special inspired by legendary rocker Peter Frampton will be on exhibit along with the Vintage Original Spec series of custom guitars.

The Vintage Original Spec series, or V.O.S., has a new, proprietary finishing process which yields the gently aged patina of a vintage classic. Also, a revolutionary handcrafting process produces the most comfortable, best-playing guitars made today. Solid mahogany back, historically accurate long neck tenon for superior strength and sustain, period correct neck profiles, hardware and electronics, and 100% nitro-cellulose lacquer are among some of the features offered in the Gibson Custom V.O.S. series.

Other Gibson Custom models on display include the ES 335 Dot Diamond in Black Pearl, ES 335 in Antiqued Red and ES 335 Dot Figured Gloss in Vintage Sunburst, and the ES 335 Dot Satin, all which are in limited run. And Gibson’s legendary BB King Lucille model, the Howard Roberts Fusion III and the Alvin Lee Signature ES 335 will mark an appearance at the show.

Gibson Montana’s offering will include the Traveling Songwriter and the popular Hummingbird guitar. Signature models including the Sheryl Crow, Pete Townshend, John Lennon Peace model and Emmylou Harris model guitars will be some of the acoustic offerings this year at the trade show.

Nothing says tradition more than a Gibson banjo or mandolin. Various models offered by the Gibson Original Acoustic Instruments division will be on display. In addition guests will be able to view Gibson Lab’s offerings of amps including the Epiphone and Gibson models.

The Gibson Guitar booth will host many celebrity appearances and signing-sessions from various incredible German artists – a great mix of longtime superstars and the hottest new talent. Confirmed acts include Kuddel from “Die Toten Hosen”, Juli, Marlon, Jansen & Kowalski, Asher Lane, Ohrbooten and many others. Appearances will begin on March 31 from 10.00am. Press may check in at the booth for interview or coverage opportunities.
