Tanglewood Sg problems
Submitted by jcu571 on Mon, 03/27/2006 - 02:50.
Hi ive had my tanglewood sg since xmas now and its definately sounding better than my other guitar and picks up the sound better. but however some songs like the solo in miracle man are impossible to play whether its the way my guitars set , pickups or my amp but i just cant play paterns like that as i just get loads of string noise or feedback which just builds up to one big noise :( . id much appreciate any replies or suggestions of how i cud lesson some of this noise while im trying to play :) . the amp ive got at the mo is only a zoomfire-30 (has all the wah effects etc on it) also ive been wanting a marshall so bad but theres just so many to choose from ive no idea where to start lol
What is "Miracle Man"?
How long have you been playing? and what things have you been playing?
Could it be that the action is set too low?
miracle man is a song by ozzy osbourne, ive been playing nerly 2 years i play allsorts really i listen to something i like and play along to the tab , altho ive got an acdc, velvet revolver, megadeth tab book. the action is that where the nuts are u can ajust to raise the strings?
Dont know where your nuts are, but mine are nowhere near my guitar strings.
Action is set by raising or lowering the bridge, but its not as easy as just moving it up and down, there is truss rod adjustment to made too.
A recent string change to a heavier or lighter gauge can cause action problems.
ah i see, i changed from guage 10 to 9 few weeks back, 10's are hard on the fingers lol, ive raised the bridge a little then retuned my guitar, its helped a little but ive noticed that certain settings on my amp change the feedback too, for some reason when i put it to metal theres not as much lol but that channel sucks for solos :/
Quick easy soloution? put the 10's back on, but were they 10-48's? or 10-52's? you can also get a 'Heavy bottom' set.
Lower your bridge to the amount you raised it to, and you have your guitar back in it's original setup.
Or you could try 9 and a halfs.
Seriously. My holey guitar is strung with a set.
