I may as well lock this thread now, cause Summer of ’69 cannot be beat.

😆 , another one much-liked by our chums across the sea. Especially when they get douze points at Eurovision (you might have to go back a little to research that factoid).

The Pogues ought to be excluded for reasons of fair play. As Kent Brockman said on a Simpsons episode, “Sadly, a minority used St Patrick’s Day as an excuse for drunkenness.” 😆

I sure you’ve heard Khe Sahn blurted out numerous times in your aussie expat watering holes.

As a British (former) student, I can confirm that Beck’s “Hi-ho, Silver Lining” is tediously spittled out by three-pint bums.

That’s Jeff Beck, for all you young ‘uns. Not “O-de-Lay” Beck bloke 🙂

You’re right. I’ve tried baseball bats, crowbars etc and Bryan Adams cannot be beat. He just runs too quickly. Listen very carefully to the fade-out of that song. You will hear the pock-faced one singing “Me and my baby had a 69”

      Disturbing, but true.
