I know its a boring subject, but i just got my renewal through.
Did you know your household contents cover will probably only cover 1 or 2 low cost instruments.
It certainly wont cover you if you play gigs. If you do then the instrument/s is/are classed as professional tools.
Anyone makes a claim on a lost guitar or damaged one and mentions that they play in a band or play live will not be covered.
Endsleigh insurance do cover for musicians, mine works out at £111 per year for £9,000 worth of cover, i dont have all my instruments on this, just the ones i tend to gig with, and it covers me for loss and damage, but not theft from an unattended vehicle.
Just thought i’d point it out.

Also worth pointing out that your standard car insurance can be affected. If your windows are clinked and the guitar and combo are lifted; not only are the car insurance people less than forthcoming; they’ll have you down as a gigging musician – a pot-smoking, beer-drinking, high-risk driver who’s likely to lose control of his Ford hatchback because some blonde groupie is lipsticking the dipstick on the drive home.

Just goes to show how far apart the imaginations of the insurance actuary and the realities of the semi-pro muso are. I’ve never managed better than a blackcurrant and soda and a heavily-sweating drummer rubbing his armpits with a XXXX beertowel for company on the way home 😳

Yeah that unattended vehicle one seems to be on just about every policy. Even pet insurance.
