Summer NAMM attendees be sure to check out “An Evening with Monte Montgomery and Friends” on Saturday the 15th. Austin’s own singer-songwriter, Monte Montgomery, is the featured performer for the extravaganza. Selected by Guitar Player magazine as one of the top 50 Guitarists of all time, Monte is a featured signature artist for the Alvarez-Yairi guitars.

Monte will bring his powerful acoustic sound to Antone’s, a leading rocks and blues club in downtown Austin. Antone’s was the first club on 6th street, and is now located at the corner of 5th and Lavaca Street. Founded by legendary promoter Clifford Antone, the list of acts that have graced the Antone’s stage include: Muddy Waters, B.B. King, Buddy Guy, John Lee Hooker, Pinetop Perkins, James Cotton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Bono and Bruce Willis, among many, many others.

Antone’s has won countless awards including many Austin Music Awards, and has being named nightclub of the year by USA Today and at The W.C. Handy Awards.

The venue is all ages all the time and offers an unforgettable live music experience for everyone.

The concert is scheduled for Saturday night July 15, 2006 at Antone’s, 213 West 5th St. downtown Austin. Doors will open at 8:30 with performances beginning at 9:00 PM. Tickets are available from the event sponsors including: Harris Musical Products, Alvarez Guitars, Shure Microphones and D’Addario Strings.

Monte Montgomery is also apearing at Harris Musical Products/Picks by the Pound (booth # 928) on Saturday at 1:00 pm. . Picks by the Pound supplies the official guitar pick of Monte Montgomery, and limited edition Monte guitar picks will be available during Monte’s appearance at the Harris booth.
