    – Press Release

The days of holding a concert ticket in your hand are numbered, says a leading UK solutions provider.

Rashid Qajar, Chief Executive of secureTicket Ltd, states, “The twin threats of touts and fraud will inevitably lead to Electronic Tickets becoming the norm.” He adds that the technology exists but has been ignored by leading industry providers.

Responding to the Department of Culture, Media and Sport Working Group’s investigation into ticket touts, Mr Qajar says, “With all the resulting problems of ticket touts, counterfeiting and fraud, issuing paper tickets in this modern technologically advanced world is somewhat antiquated.”

“Consumers are demanding more protection but the industry lags behind the very consumers they wish to entice,” says Mr Qajar, “Ticketing must change.”

In response to consumer demand, secureTicket will launch their solution in February 2007. Born out of banking technology, it will provide consumer protection, transparency and security.

Mr Qajar says, “This modernising solution encompasses the latest in proven technologies and brings the industry in line with consumer expectations. Our solution is derived from a number of collaborative ventures with leading companies in their own field.”

As well as improving the security of tickets, secureTicket offers many other benefits. “We have listened to the industry’s needs and delivered the solutions,” says Mr Qajar. Describing secureTicket as the first truly industry focused ticketing solution, he says it will embrace venue, event, producer, finance and marketing, enabling everyone to access information in real time in a cost effective manner.

Online sales, which now account for over 50% of ticket sales, will be integrated into secureTicket, rather than added on. This will make it much easier for both the venues and the customers to use. The cost of selling a ticket will be reduced because of its use of new and proven technologies and all costs will be transparent to both venue and customers. secureTicket is able to handle millions of transactions an hour which means it will not fall down when a very popular event goes on sale.
