    – Press Release

D’Addario has tirelessly searched for an alternative to nylon classical guitar strings. The issue was finding a material that would respond similarly to touch, yet would project a brighter tone. The search is over as the company is happy to introduce the D’Addario T2 Titanium Classical Guitar Treble Strings.

This dense monofilament material has an attractive, translucent purple hue, facilitates a polished, smooth feel analogous to nylon, but with a slightly brighter tone and increased projection. As a result, the new T2 Titanium Treble Strings may be substituted for current nylon strings with little player acclimatization. Players will be particularly impressed with the 3rd/G string, which creates a well balanced transition between bass and trebles strings.

Available as singles in three tensions, the new strings are designed for the classical player, but will appeal greatly to flamenco, folk and other “non-classical” musicians, as well.

“The D’Addario T2s are a pleasant surprise,” reports the acclaimed Newman Oltman Duo. “They are very sweet in tone—and also loud.”

D’Addario Strings Senior Product Manager, Brian Vance explains: “For years we’ve searched for a material that delivers a brighter, quality tone, yet with the precise diameter and intonation characteristics. Our new T2 Treble strings offer a unique look and alternative to our best-selling Pro?Arte nylon.”

The D’Addario T2 Titanium Classical Treble Strings will be available to retailers in February, 2006. The strings will come in multiple gauges and will retail for: .30 – .50.
