    i have the line 6 spider II head and it has 8 ohms for left and 8 ohms for the right. i currently only have one cab which is 8 ohms stereo and 16 ohms mono. i plan on buying a second cab. when i plug in both i have to set the cabs to mono and i would like to have 8 ohms stereo and 8 ohms mono. is this possible?

      you want to run 1 cabinet stereo and 1 cabinet mono, therefore you effectively have 3 cabinets requiring 3 cables, ie:

      mono = 1 x 16ohm
      stereo = 2 x 16ohm in parallel = 2 x 8ohm

      it won’t hurt the amp if you run 2x8ohm and 1x16ohm outputs

      or just run two mono cabinets

      GG, could you just post the make + model of your cab before I try a reply? I don’t want to make a complete arse of myself – so far, I’m keeping my arse-precentage just under 50 😉
