I have recently had restored a guitar that I know very little about and I was hoping someone here may. It is a Hayashi made ‘Pearl’ 12 string acoutsic.

    SERIAL NUMBER 800113

I know it to be rare as it took the restorer over a year to find the required part. It has mother of pearl inlays on the fret and is finished in sunburst…

I would love to know a bit more about its background or even a valuation would be great

    thanks

      Hello again Rob,

I had another search around and found a couple of possible leads. Take a look at Harmony Central reviews for “Mountain” acoustics. These were accurate Martin copies, attributed to Hayashi and made in Japan in the ’70s. There is also a reference to a Hayashi-san being head of Ibanez’ acoustics division. They may have head-hunted him or perhaps your acoustic was part of the celebrated Fuji Gen-Gakki output right from the start.
