What kind of wire should I get for my 1st refret (in 20 years 😳 )

    1987 Jap Tele. Bought new.

I play rivvum in the style of Lou Reed. Though that is open to discussion.

    Cheers

PS. I’m not going to do it myself. Very good mate of mine is a pro and he’s kindly put me in touch with his bloke (who refrets his vintage Strats). Should cost me €150, which is cheap round here. Shops want about twice that.

Ralphie’s spot on. 6105 if you want a more modern bend, 6230 if it’s an old or reissue Tele and you want to keep it stock. Here’s the exact Warmoth page on fret wire:

Thanks lads. I still have no idea. A vintage Tele.. Bloody hell. I suppose it is by now. By the time refret No. 2 is due, I’ll be 65. Jesus..

I personally like the 6105 Standard Nickel/Silver Fret Wire, but if it is a vintage neck and you want to keep it vintage go with the 6230. JMHO

Lou, if you go to http://www.warmoth.com, you´ll see the various options. It´s your beswt chance of choosing based on descns. BTW, I´ve heard that stainless steel frets are VERY bright. Might not be your thing.
