Yeah, boiling strings is for pople who like the twang.

I like the crud on my strings, although I refer to it as ‘tone’, my favourite strings have 3 years worth of ‘tone’ stuck to them, come to think of it so does my fretboard.

Yep, I read a lot about boiling bass strings. I’ve never bothered. I’d love it if those who have would post in. For flats, I gather that they should be left in place to accumulate as much sweat, grease and BBQ sauce as possible. All adds to the thump 🙂

Lee, you’re a shameless freebiehound. Still, I do find fretless 5-string bass sets very expensive… 😆

Nice to see you on our ever-running “worst finish” thread, GK.

Mike, did you notice that Ralphie wants to take you up on the offer, too? Or did he “piss you off” and the spam-blocker redirect his freebie elsewhere?
      🙂

      Hah !

Not a bad idea, but I found a better cause for those freebies. Seeing as no one took em up anyways.

GuitarKnight, show yourself ye man of the king, or I shall calleth battle at dawn. For not his word, than his life.

…. too many medieval dvds for me.

In our effort to decrease fly-by-nighters who post links and then disappear, you will also be participating in this forum, right?
