Joe could certainly write a toon and a lyric. Despite having one of the all-time boring bass lines, I do like “Different for Girls” as well as “Is She Really Going Out With Him?”, “Seventeen” and, despite early 80s overlush production (and horrific video for the US market) “Steppin’ Out”. I’d be happy with just those numbers in my songbook.

Well spotted, the Shatner one, i thought the guy on the keyboard had headphones on but it was his hairstyle.

JJ did a good job, a search for Joe Jackson brought up this classic:

My German’s not great, but “That is not a…” would be the correct translation. Back to straying away from your forte, I can think of loads.

Who can forget (although you can wish) Glenn ‘n’ Chris (I thought Hoddle and Waddle made a better name) with Diamond Lights? Stick to sublime dribbling and passing, lads.

And the Hoff had a gross recently with some dodgy “Jump in my Car” song. Not likely, given his tendency to “dribble” into his jeans when given a lift on airport invalid trucks.

Jimmy Nail, good character actor, got some series as a PI called “Spanker” or something and decides to be a sultry funkster. She’s why-eye-in’

And the legendary William Shatner. Everyone knows of his Lucy in the Sky and Rocketman, but you might not have seen Pulp’s “Common People” being murdered (Joe Jackson does the bits requiring actual singing):

Nice to see you give the Hoff a good kick up the nuts, he’s had it too easy for too long, if it wasn’t for the Germans he would have gone in ’88.

lol Stefan Dennis, either you or bass shocked me when you told me he was once a singer.

      Indeed Hoff should be included.

Can we mention Stefan Dennis ‘Don’t it make you feel good’? or as its known in these parts ‘Don’t i look a right C*nt’?

What about the Hoff? Sorry Mike, i know you like him but come on… 😆

Or Russell Crowe’s 30 Odd Foot of Grunt — commonly reffered to as 30 Odd Foot of C… around these parts.

Or Bruce Willis Under the Boardwalk – Thankgod he started kicking ass instead

😆 , it kept buffering too much for me to catch that one. Not my genre – in fact, I hate that “country car radio” stuff – but I will concede it’s not embarrassingly bad. Like Waterworld

‘Listening to the wobble of the celling fan, i wish i was a better man’?

Sing it and they will come… not me.
