Man, you don't know how much I'd love to be able to play an upright, have to learn someday...maybe when I retire!

Until then, I wouldn't say no to 'La Jem' quatre cordes, Monsieur Martines (Luthier Amateur?!...) seems to make some kick-ass stuff.

I don't usually like "neck on a spike" EUBs but this one has a decent scale length (34" ones strike me as pointless) and the wood looks very nice. I agree with Tim; there are some lovely electric basses he's made. I particularly like his attention to neck/body joins. For some reason (apart from my 5-string preference) the quirky, hollow "La Jade" tickles my fancy.

Certainement. If he does it for free, I've got a box of parts (and even some blocks of wood) I'd happily hand over to him with some sketches :)
