I was hoping to be ‘amusing’ and type a link to Roy Castle’s Tapping record but no video, sadly. However, seeing as we’ve moved to getting the Stabilos out, here is something on “Record Breakers” with Roy Castle that I did find:

I saw some good tapping once. Can’t remember his name.

If you mean desk tapping however, try alternating between your desk and your legs for some great tone. Tone IS in your fingers in this case.

Also, a little pro-secret for you: If you use the nib end of a Pilot V5 it actually re-bounds as if you’re using a real drum allowing you to execute some pretty kick-ass rolls and fills.[/quote]

lol. i’m imagining a full office orchestra.

Hang on…are we talking about desks here? If so I agree totally! I found after 7 hours at work my finger ends were getting numb, until I discovered…’The Pen’ 🙂

Tapping is for guys like this:

If you’re not a self-important, washed-up metal has been (like Jeff Watson of Night Ranger), stick to the pen. And don’t get any ideas – his “8 finger technique” is patented!

Hmmmm – is that a Les Paul in his hands? Go figure! 😉
