I play mostly true bypass pedals (Fulltone/Keeley/Nick Greer) but do have a couple that aren’t like my tuner, my Boss CE2 and my Cry baby.

The latter is causing a few problems and to be honest have not really ever taken to it so I need a replacement. Can someone help?

    Questions:

    – Do I need a true bypass wah as these seem to be few and far between?

    – Do I have to spend £200 to get a decent wah?
    – Please can you recommend something?

    – Just got a Lovepedal Karl Fuzz – do I need to consider what wah I get to use this pedal before/after it?

    Big thanks for any help.

I have a Fulltone Clyde. It’s true bypass and it sounds pretty good, I guess. I dunno; maybe I was expecting that it would totally blow me away, and it doesn’t. Don’t get me wrong, it sound infinitely better than a Dunlop or Morley. Also, I’m not sure if it’s my particular pedal or ALL of them, but there seems to be one spot in the pot where most of the “wha” happens without a whole lot of variation at the top or the bottom of the travel of the pedal. I’ve had some success adjusting the internal trim pot, but I’m still not “married” to it. It did survive a 3 foot drop onto a concrete floor, so that earned it high marks.

When I was shopping for a wah, I’d narrowed my choices down to the Fulltone and the Budda. I’m thinking I may like to try the Budda – just don’t tell my wife. 😉

I have a Cry Baby, i didn’t like it either, i converted it into a volume pedal, and didn’t like that either!!
I then bought a Morley Wah and i found it easier to control and the sounds was better in bypass, i don’t know if it’s a true bypass, but it’s well worth a look, and i got my used one for around £60.
