Looking for information, value of and history of Tatay guitar made in Valencia, Spain. The guitar was made at Fabrica de Guitarras Bandurrias y Laudes. The guitar is identified on its label as Literato Azorin No. 13. Please email me if you can help. This guitar means a great deal to me. It was a gift from my father when I was 9 years old, I am now 60.
Thanks.
From Jedistar's Vintage Guitar Identification site:
Vicente Tatay was a guitar maker in Valencia from 1889. The workshop was transformed into a factory. The firm Vicente Tatay founded has grown into a major factory producing some 40,000 instruments a year. Vicente Tatay retired in 1942, and the firm was taken over by his sons José and Vicente Tatay Tomás who formed a company Hijos de Vicente Tatay [Source: Zavaletas]

Here are reviews on Harmony Central. Based on reviewer comments, the guitar may be worth a bit of money.

I also have a guitar with the same label. I could not find the site that gave me a suggested value. Has anyone found a suggested price for this guitar? Mine has some cosmetic damage, but a lovely sound, stays in tune like a champ.
