hello all,
I am desperately trying to build repertoire for my guitar duo/trio which was reborn in our local, always empty caffe bar. Basically it’s a new technique of trying to reduce alcohol and other subtance intake by distracting ourselves with another object. We were all guitar players when we were young, two of us played in an orchestra for three years, but we quit and had a 15yr long pause. Fingers sure became stiffer and heavier. So logically, in technical terms we aren’t on some professional level, nor we want to be there, but we all still love the instrument and want to get in touch with it again. Personally I used to play classics and jazzy arrangements, I am a big fan of javier ruibal and al di meola, but I was never able to play it technically. So we aren’t going that way. I would like to play non intense, easy listening pieces for two or three guitars. I was thinking something like jazzy arrangements or even some classical tunes, I used to love Tarrega. I don’t want to go into rock/blues but I was going to include claptons signe and layla on the list just for the fun of it, because they are both great guitar pieces and easy too. Also, instrumental pieces like signe are always welcome and I just can’t remember any good ones. Well anyway, I have been away a long time, please help me build my “easy going” caffe repertoire for two or three guitars and I will also need some directons for finding the notes on “the internets”. Here are a few ideas, that I have had so far:jazzy arrangements:
girl from ipanema
feelings
samba pa ti
(I found notes of these just lying around in my attic, but the sheets were torn out of a book “Musik der Welt” or something, I would be so happy if anyone knows what book that was and if it’s still sold anywhere … anyway I like these arrangements, they are great, I would like more suggestions like these and sources where to get these)and as I already mentioned, instrumental pieces like:
eric clapton – signe ( these are always welcome, help me make a list of them)I am going to at least include this for a warm-up practice:
eric clapton – layla (not going to be on a repertoire, but as a warm-up practice)I also like stuff like Les Négresses Vertes – hasta llegar
also if anybody knows of any classical pieces for two guitars, sounding maybe like Tarrega’s Capricho Arabe, that would be great
