Hi,

It’s been three months that I tried learning guitar. I only learn from someone teaching the chords.

I want to learn a song by myself. Is a slow down music software useful in learning guitar? Can anyone recommend such software?

Song Surgeon is a good option – we have a detailed review at

I think this is a good approach. You will be learning to HEAR how a song is played, and eventually you will be able to pick up how to play a song just by hearing it. There is an old jazz players trick, simply playing along with a radio, rather than a recording…with the radio, you don’t know what is coming next and you have3 a limited time to determint the key, chords and maybe a few riffs before the song ends, and they go on to the next unknown song. It is a simple but very effective ear training decvice and I recommend it highly.

FWIW, I got my first acoustic guitar around 1962, and played professionally for years and I’m still learning something every time I play.

      enjoy.
Me too, When I buy my guitar at Crafter Guitar. I don’t know how to play that much. I want learn more because among my friends, I’m the only one who don’t know how to play guitar. I’m still looking for a private tutor who can teach me on how to play acoustic guitar.
We have same problem before but now I started learning new songs with Song Surgeon slow down music software. Grab a copy of their demo here http://www.songsurgeon.com. There demo is worth for a try. Also with the help of their sniffer you can grab new songs from any video sites and strip out the audio and start learning from. I assure you will love this software like I do and learn solos by your own.
Thanks for the suggestion but I’m after for a software that can be used to slow down the music so I can clearly hear what is being played in a segment. I just heard some free software but not worth to use now I found this Song Surgeon product which I’m exploring their FREE 4hour working Demo.

More suggestions will help me evaluate the difference of each.

      Thanks.
I would suggest also to use song surgeon with their latest update I could tell it’s far from their song surgeon version 2. A lot of enhancements and features especially the update on the sniffer module. Don’t waste your time get a slow down music software now and start learning guitar.

I have tried it and it’s really great thing to slow down music to learn guitar.

      Regards,
      cesar

      Hello sarcextreme,

Here’s a site I often visit…he has easy to learn 3 & 4 chord songs on video. He also has videos for sale….CHEAP. Another thing thats an asset is his own “Tab Viewer” This program plays along with the song…and it displays where your fingers go…and where each note played is on the neck.

I found it very informative, as well as very simple to learn complete songs.

      Hope this Helps
