Stomp or Synth? Advice please

Hi guys....

The time has come to put my KorgAX3000G out to pasture and I'm torn between the Boss GT-100 and the Roland GR-55 Guitar Synth. The synth has some really cool sounds and effects, but will I lose out on anything?

Have you tried either or both of these and can give me any guidance?
