Yamaha Acoustic - Questions!!

I have an old Yamaha FG441 TBS (sunburst finish)

I was told this was a solid top guitar, but it seems more like a laminate top to me.

Is there a difference between the 441 & the 441 S?? Which IS definately a solid top.

Or any good resources for identifying older guitars would be most welcome.

Cheers guys.

Harmony central says the FG441 is a solid top, the TBS probably means ToBbaco sunburst?? i think you have a solid top, a lot of the preamp pickup accoustic guitars have laminated tops, supposed better quality sound when plugged into a PA or mixing desk, Solid top is'nt a always a better instrument.
