Hohner adds two new full-sized dreadnought acoustics to their A+ Student line of instruments, the A+ 305 and A+ 355.

Hohner A+ 355

These two new guitars will start the company’s A+ 300 series, which is described as a guitar line specifically designed for students that are looking for a full sized instrument to learn on.

Following the company’s philosophy “good guitars make good better players”, they build their A+ line to follow quality procedures that make the instruments more viable for learning players without jacking up the price. They even have the 10 quality categories that their guitars have to satisfy, listed on their site.

Prominently mentioned is how the neck block has horizontal grain in the same direction to ensure smooth changes in dimensions in response to changing weather and humidity conditions. They say that this avoids the so-called neck humps at the body-neck joint.

Hohner also mentioned that they paid close attention to getting the glued parts done right to improve sound transmission and reliability. Other quality categories include fretwork, neck angle, top bracing pattern, tonewood choice and ofcourse the finish.

The new Hohner A+ 300 series are also born out of the same philosophy, this time built to traditional dreadnought specifics. The 305 model with its laminate top is the more affordable one, while the the 355 ups the ante with its solid top and improved aesthetic features.

The entry level Hohner A+ 305 features basic aesthetics and hardware, with dot inlays on the fretboard, chrome hardware and matte black tuning pegs. It is available in a variety of finishes including Tobacco sunburst, Black and Natural satin colors. It is available as traditional dreadnought acoustic, or you can go for one with modern cutaway and built-in pickup/pre-amp that also has an on-board tuner.

The A+ 355 has upgraded features, starting with its solid spruce top. Aesthetics and hardware are also improved, having diamond fretboard inlays, gold finish hardware, matte black tuning pegs and inlaid rosette. The finish options for the 355 dreadnought include Tobacco sunburst, Black and Natural satin colors. Like the 305, you can go for a traditional acoustic full-body version, or opt for a cutaway with an enhanced pickup/pre-amp featuring an on-board tuner.

Rock Clouser, Product Manager for Hohner stringed instruments, “By adding these full size dreadnoughts with A+ refinements to our student instruments, the A+ brand continues to inspire and encourage advancing players to the next level of musical enjoyment. Now adults can enjoy the features and benefits of an A+ instrument,”.

Pricing information and other details will soon be available at Hohner.
