Merging the best aspects of both nylon and steel string guitars, Cordoba Guitars’ Fusion series models are nylon-string guitars for steel-string musicians.
The newest model in the lineup, the Fusion 12 Orchestra, is the first full-body (non-cutaway) model in the series. Available with a solid spruce or cedar top, rosewood back and sides, and a variety of mic and pickup options, the 12 Orchestra produces a warm, glowing nylon-string sound with the feel of a traditional steel-string.
Featuring Indian Rosewood back and sides, a multi-ringed, hand-inlaid, natural wood rosette, a lightweight Cedar neck, and an Ebony fingerboard and the option of either a solid Canadian Cedar or European Spruce top, the 12 Orchestra is the perfect blend of what’s best about nylon and steel guitars. A light Mahogany binding accents the body shape of the Orchestra, which is slightly altered from a traditional nylon string guitar.
The thinner 1 7/8” neck is comfortable for any player, and the radiused fingerboard makes playability quick, comfortable, and easy. The tone is dark and punchy in the basses, with strong, round trebles and balanced mids. The Orchestra comes equipped with a BBand A1.2 pickup, which has a volume control mounted on the inside edge of the sound hole. The 9-volt battery powered electronics are mounted in a small tube that is directly coupled with a high quality endpin jack making an all-in-one structure. The HZZless circuitry and UST (under saddle transducer) pickup produce a tone that is amazingly clear and pure.
