Ovation introduces the Proto Limited LT-60, an acoustic guitar that features their latest designs and futuristic build.

This limited run US-made instrument unveils the new direction that Ovation is taking in terms of sound and style, featuring a new redesigned Ovation “O” logo.
Ovation guitars are already unique as they are, but looks like Ovation is not done yet, and they are now ready to move on to new designs, as exemplified by the new Proto Limited LT-60.
A lot of things are new in this guitar, starting with the headstock shape and its new contours. The new stylized “O” headstock inlay is also very different from what we’re used to seeing, but it still gives the guitar its Ovation identity.
The body of the guitar remains true to classic Ovation design, featuring an Adirondack spruce top supported by a Lyrachord “bowl”. Underneath the spruce top however is another modern implement – a special artist modified X bracing pattern.
The contoured Lyrachord back and sides are designed to provide maximum acoustic response with the feel of a small-body instrument. The contours are shaped for improved comfort when playing and Ovation claims that the “Contour Bowl body has the acoustic projection, midrange punch, and huge bottom end of a traditional jumbo-style instrument, yet offers the playing comfort of Ovation’s Super-Shallow body.”
The asymmetrical thin-profile mahogany neck maintains Ovation’s modern playability, featuring a dual-action truss rod for adjustments. The neck is topped with a fretboard made from ebony, and features 22 medium frets. The scale length is measured at 25.25″.
Calling the design as “Artistry Advanced”, the new Proto Limited LT-60 comes with a wealth of eye candies. Most prominent is the pommele sapele rosette with intricate abalone inlay work. The body binding, neck binding and headstock inset are all made from pommele sapele as well. Other aesthetic additions include black-white-black purfling, 12th fret inlay in abalone with rosewood shadow, ebony bridge and textured enamel body finish.
Rounding off the features of this guitar is the Ovation OP-Pro Studio onboard pickup and preamp system. It comes with a 3 band EQ, exciter, compressor/limiter and a chromatic tuner.
The Ovation Proto Limited LT-60 Acoustic Guitar has an MSRP of $5,199, however I found one being sold online for $3,599. For more information, you can visit Ovation Guitars.
