Taylor Fall 2012 Limited Edition Acoustic Guitars

Taylor celebrates the coming of Fall 2012 season with a new batch of Fall Limited Edition models, featuring exotic tonewood options.

These limited edition acoustic guitars feature eye catching quilted sapele, Macassar ebony and Tasmanian blackwood.

Aside from beautiful looking and great sounding tonewoods, these guitars also come with detailed embellishments.

Taylor’s Grand Auditorium, Grand Symphony, Grand Concert and Dreadnought shapes no come in quilted sapele. This rare tonewood is also showcased on Taylor’s 12-fret and Baritone 8-string models. Taylor guitar designer Andy Powers describes these guitars as “a little warmer and more powerful on the low end than normal…players will hear a darker, richer, more ‘broken-in’ sound than they might expect.” The rare quilted sapele wood was flatsawn and lightly stained to further enhance its looks. It is paired with AA-grade European spruce tops which produce its unique and complex tonal voice. Embellishments include “Solitaire” diamond fret inlays, a sapele and Ivoroid rosette, Ivoroid binding and a Venetian cutaway.

Taylor’s Presentation Series Fall 2012 Limited Edition models feature beautifully variegated sets of Macassar ebony and sinker redwood. The resulting look is a combination of milk chocolate, cinnamon and caramel tone colors with occasional bold lines that looks like pre-war vintage Brazilian rosewood acoustics. Macassar enoby is known to produce deep lows and clear highs while the sinker redwood top produces the same warmth of cedar but with a bolder response. The resulting tone is a mature, darker and complex acoustic sound. Macassar ebony and sinker redwood limiteds are available in Grand Auditorium and Grand Symphony shapes with appointments that include ebony binding with a contoured armrest, paua inlays and top trim, and CV bracing on the interior for improved tone projection.

If you are looking for a guitar that sounds a bit like koa while sporting a unique look then you will like the Tasmanian Blackwood Limited Editions on Taylor’s 400 series. It is available in the following models: 410ce, 412ce-N, 414ce, 414ce-N, 416ce, or in a Baritone 8-String model. Each guitar comes with a three-piece back, with a Rock maple mini-wedge and is topped by Western Red cedar. The Baritone 8-String Limited model is offered with a Sitka top for a clearer response. Maple also graces the fretboard inlays, and a new “fishbone” sound hole rosette acts as its centerpiece. Rounding off its classic look are satin-finish back and sides, along with a Venetian cutaway.
