EVH 5150 III 1x12 50W Combo

EVH introduces the 5150 III 1x12 50-watt combo amplifier, the latest combo configuration to come out from this popular line of amps.

This combo amp follows after the 2x12 50 Watt version, this time featuring a single 12" Celestion speaker and the ability to power down to 1 Watt via the amp's built-in attenuator.

Like its bigger siblings, the EVH 5150 III 1x12 50W Combo is an all-tube amp that carries the same tones, albeit in a smaller package.

The amplifier section houses three channels that follow after the bigger 5150 III amps, letting you switch between Clean, Crunch and Lead. All three channels are said to be tweaked to meet the demands of Eddie Van Halen himself, so you will be getting the same tube driven tones that Van Halen himself wields.

The amp features the same set of tubes as the bigger combo amp, powered by seven JJ ECC83 (12AX7) preamp tubes and two JJ 6L6 power tubes. As expected, this combo amp can go all out, but it can also allow for fully cranked Van Halen tones at lower volumes via the front-panel adjustable Power Level control knob.

The 5150 III 1x12 50-Watt Combo has a single input front-panel input and features an array of knobs for tone shaping, including controls for gain, low, mid, high, volume, master presence, rear-panel master resonance and power level. A dedicated knob is also provided for adjusting the built-in DSP based reverb.

Other features include rear-panel MIDI input and preamp output, two rear-panel parallel speaker outputs, rear-panel effects loop, a headphone jack for silent practice, and a four-button footswitch that controls all three channels and the reverb effect.

The birch cabinet is custom-shaped with the company's special internal baffling. EVH equipped the amp with vintage-style chicken-head control knobs, a red jewel indicator, plastic top strap handle and casters. The amp is available in black and ivory finish.

The MSRP for the new EVH 5150 III 1x12 50W Combo is $1,818.17. You can head over to EVH Gear for the complete specifications of the amp.
