Peavey’s new Tour Series 700 and 450 bass amp heads

Peavey has introduced new Tour Series 700 and 450 bass amplifier heads, a pair of high-powered workhorses featuring highly specialized EQ, built-in subharmonic generator, direct out with phantom power backup and Peavey’s new patented SmartRail technology.

Peavey Tour Series

As many of you know, Nickelback bassist Mike Kroeger uses a Peavey Rig.

Tour Series bass amplifier heads offer extensive tone shaping utilizing a nine-band graphic equalizer configured with its frequency bands spaced at critical bass guitar frequencies. Peavey engineers adjusted the EQ centers so players can achieve better definition of the response curve with ease. These amps also include a Peavey-exclusive subharmonic generator with level control and footswitchable bypass that adds a note one octave lower than the original note, creating interesting harmonic textures and significantly enriching the bottom end.

The Peavey Tour 700 and 450 power section delivers 700 watts and 450 watts RMS into 4 ohms, respectively. SmartRail technology, a new patented Peavey power-amp topology, makes it possible for the Tour Series to deliver its massive dynamic power, increased efficiency and lighter weight.

In addition, the XLR-equipped direct out allows traditional patching to a front-of-house or studio mixer, but features failsafe phantom power backup that sends a flat signal through the house P.A. or studio console. Peavey Tour Series bass amplifiers are now available from authorized Peavey retailers.
