The Godin Shifter Classic 4 Bass is a retro style guitar that builds on the traditional P-Bass look and sound.
This bass guitar melds Godin innovation and classic styling, producing a familiar looking instrument with improved features.
At the core of the Godin Shifter Classic 4 is a Canadian Laurentian Basswood body with a great looking Crème Brulee high gloss finish. It sports a rock maple neck and you are given a choice between a maple or rosewood fretboard. It has 16″ fretboard radius, 34″ scale length and 1.5″ Nut width.
This bass is equipped with Godin’s own passive PJ pickups that are tuned to provide a more retro sound and also mimics the same retro shape and look. Controls include a simple volume and tone knob and a 4-way pickup selector that can let you toggle between neck, bridge, mix and series configurations.
A nifty feature of the Shifter Classic 4 is its double function bridge that lets you string through either the body or the bridge.
Expect to see the Godin Shifter Classic 4 on sale in the coming months and it is expected to retail at around $795.
