Ibanez showcases its spark for value, premium materials, craftsmanship and design with the new SR Pemium Bass.

The SR Premium bass is designed for the working musician. It aims to provide good tone and flexibility, producing practical and useful tones that you and your song needs. The SR Premium bass, bearing the brand Ibanez is expected to satisfy the playability demands of musicians. Ibanez also designed the SR Premium Bass to be sturdy and road worthy, so it won’t have to collect dust in your attic and instead be used in your regular gigs without fear of your instrument being fragile.
The Ibanez SR Premium features a 5pc Wenge/Bubinga neck with an embedded KTS reinforcement titanium rod for stability. The rosewood frets are treated and sanded to ensure playability. The abalone oval inlays on the frets and the gold Gotoh tuning machine heads will catch not just the listeners ear, but their eyes as well.
The body is made of mahogany, with the two models having different types of top wood. The SR1400E features a figured maple top which will give you more snap, while the SR1200E features an ovangkol top which is known for its depth. Both guitars are covered with a vintage natural flat finish which gives more emphasis to the organic wood vibe.
The SR Premium Bass also showcases the Mono-Rail Bridge IV, a unique bridge design where each saddle is independently locked down to the body to ensure that each string transfers their vibration in an isolated manner with less interference from other strings.
Ibanez installed two Nordstand Big Single pickups on these bass guitars. Nordstand boasts of providing single coil pickup sound while delivering powerful tone because of its size. These pickups are then controlled via a built in EQB-IISC 3 Band EQ. Which helps in providing usable, flexible realistic tones.
The two models of the SR Premium Bass has an equivalent 5 string instrument – SR1405E and SR1205E- to cater to those that need lower notes. Finally each SR Premuim Bass comes with a special gig bag so you can carry your instrument in style
Ibanez is known for providing quality guitars at a relatively affordable value, so I checked on the prices of the SR Premium Bass at zzsounds.com and confirmed that the SR1200E is currently priced at $999.99 while the SR1400E is being sold for $1049.99.
