The JS3 Kelly Bird IV is designed by an iconic metal bass player for other metal bass players to enjoy, combining high output pickups and killer looks.

The body of this bass guitar is made of Basswood, cut in the shape of what Jackson calls “Kelly Bird”. To my eyes it looks like a variation of the Thunderbird shape, or maybe the Ibanez Iceman. The guitar comes in either Transparent Black or Transparent Blue Burst gloss finish.

The guitar features a bolt-on rock maple neck with a scale length of 34″. The fretboard is made of rosewood and has 22 jumbo frets. Radius is measured at 12″ to 16″ and block position inlays serve as your fretboard guide. To adjust the neck, the JS3 Kelly Bird IV comes with dual-action truss rods. The headstock features the traditional Jackson Pointed 4 In-Line shape and both the headstock and neck is wrapped by a white binding.

To meet the demands of loud heavy metal music, this bass guitar comes with dual Jackson JS high-output covered pickups. These pickups are controlled via blend knob and a traditional volume knob. A unique feature to the JS3 Kelly Bird IV is its 3-Band EQ controls, giving you tone shaping options from within your instrument.

Finally, the strings are held in place and in tune by Jackson High Mass Bridge and Jackson Tuning Machines. A Matte Black Finish version is also available, the JS2 Kelly Bird IV, carrying the same specifications but with basic independent volume and master tone control knobs.

Pricing information is not yet available, you can visit Jackson Guitars for the complete specifications.
