The Epiphone Limited Edition ES 335 Pro modernizes the traditional ES-335 semi-hollow design, with its coil-tapping humbuckers.

After successfully equipping their other guitars with versatile coil-tapping pickups, it is now the ES-335’s turn to be upgraded.

Gibson seems to have standardized the addition of coil-tapping humbuckers – the Burstbucker Pro Pickups – to many of their instruments. Thankfully they also wanted to extend the same tone flexibility and convenience on their affordable guitars. And so they designed the cheaper alternative – the Epiphone Alnico Classic Pro 4-wire humbuckers. These pickups allow Gibson and Epiphone users to get more tones out of their guitars, controlled by simply pushing or pulling the volume knob of each pickup. Instead of being stuck with the usual 3-way pickup configuration, you can now achieve more tonal variations.

It appears that many guitarists have found these features useful, because Epiphone continues to equip many of their guitars with this pickup system, and the latest of which is the Limited Edition ES-335 Pro. This adds a modern twist to the traditional semi-hollow tones expected from the 335 shape.

Aside from the pickups, everything else stays with the tried and true 335 design. The body of the Epiphone ES-335 Pro is built using premium laminated maple and birch with a mahogany center block. The neck is made of mahogany and is glued-in to the guitar body. The 24.75″ scale neck is topped by a rosewood fingerboard with pearloid small block inlays. The headstock features the traditional dovewing Epiphone shape and is adorned with classic ’60s era Epiphone logo and ES-335 PRO in white on the truss rod cover. For a more classic vibe, the body, top, back and the fingerboard feature cream bindings.

The guitar is equipped with sturdy hardware, including its 3-way pickup selector, Wilkinson Vintage classic 14:1 tuners and its LockTone locking Tune-o-matic bridge and StopBar tailpiece. Finally, the volume and tone knobs use full-size 500K potentiometers for long-lasting performance.

You can have this affordable and versatile limited edition ES-335 semi-hollow guitar for only $449.
