This new model carries over the retro-meets-modern design distinct to the Roadcore series, and it comes with build quality and assurance as expected from the company’s guitar facility in Japan.

The new RC1320 Prestige is currently the top-of-the-line model for the Roadcore series, it has the old school appeal of the first release, only this one is handled by Ibanez’ best luthiers ensuring their best quality control and attention to detail.

Like the rest of the Roadcore series, this new guitar comes with an asymmetrical double cutaway body carved from mahogany. Contrasting the more colorful finishes of other guitars in this line, the RC1320 is wrapped in Dark Brown Sunburst finish, which gives it a clean look and an overall more earthy appeal.

Instead of the usual Ibanez branded pickups, the RC1320 comes with a versatile combination of humbuckers, a Seymour Duncan59 on the neck and a Seymour Duncan JB for the bridge. The Seymour Duncan 59 is a popular aftermarket PAF style pickup, while the JB is sough after for its modern hot-rod bridge tones. This melding of classic PAF and modern hotrod bridge matches the appeal and playability of the instrument. The two pickups are wired to a 3-way pickup selector and two knobs that control tone and volume. For added sonic versatility, the company equipped the guitar with a push/pull “coil-tap” switch on tone knob, allowing for pseudo single coil tones on a HH configuration guitar.

The guitar’s neck is crafted from maple, featuring the usual easy to play specifications that helped make Ibanez a respected brand world over. It has a rosewood fingerbaord with medium frets that feature the company’s Prestige fret edge treatment – for seamless feel on the sides of the fretboard. Acrylic block inlays serve as markers and match the classic appeal of the instrument. Scale length is 25.5″, which is quite unusual for a double humbucker equipped guitar. The bone nut is 42 mm wide, while neck radius is 250mmR.

Other features of this guitar include Sure Grip III knobs, Tight-Tune bridge, Gotoh Magnum Lock machineheads, and chrome finish hardware.

The new Ibanez RC1320 Prestige Roadcore is currently retailing for around $1500 and is currently only available from UK guitar stores. Visit Ibanez for more information.
