For those that are not familiar with Godin, or want to better understand the background of the company, they provided a quick historical look on their press release, an it follows:

Montreal based Godin Guitars has come a long way since the early days of President & Founder Robert Godin traveling the eastern U.S. and Canada, selling guitars to dealers out of his Econoline van. Its early beginnings in 1972, as a small company in Lapatrie Quebec, also included building replacement necks for some of the industry’s top brands of that time.

The Godin Guitar Company of today, is one of the largest guitar manufacturers in the business, and now includes 6 factories and seven guitar brands sold all over the world. The Godin brand in itself also features the widest range of guitars & stringed instruments in the industry today. This opens the door to a full spectrum of players & playing styles from folk, to jazz, to world, to rock, heavy-metal and more. Models span the gamut of straight-up 6-string electrics, to steel & nylon string electro-acoustic hybrids, to revolutionary 3-voice guitar wonders, to acclaimed innovations such as the 11-string MultiOud fretless & Inuk fretted series instruments, Godin Guitars continues to help players push the envelope in every genre of music out there.

This limited edition guitar comes with eighteen tuned metal tines mounted under the bridge to reproduce the unique sound of the Acousticaster, and it has upgraded features including a GNJ1mini-humbucker, custom voiced top mounted preamp and two 1/4″ outputs for electric and acoutic mixing.

The guitar has a two-chamber mahogany body, capped by a solid cedar top and great looking figured Koa wood leaftop. Other notable specifications include a 12″ radius fretbaord, 25.5″ scale, 1.7″ nut width and a choice of Rosewood or maple fingerboard on a rock maple neck.
