New Fender Modern Player Electric Guitars

Fender expands the Modern Player series with three new electric guitars – the Modern Player Stratocaster HSH, Modern Player Jazzmaster HH and Modern Player Mustang.

The Modern Player series has been getting a lot of praise because of its combination of great value and quality. These instruments are among the most affordable Fender branded guitars in the market, which makes them very appealing. They are made at the the same factory as the popular Squier Classic Vibe series.

Now Fender expands the series with more instruments – two of which offer high-output alternatives to existing models featuring mahogany bodies equipped with humbuckers, while the third one adopts a classic Fender design. The expanded Modern Player series also include new electric bass guitars, which we will also feature at a later time.

Modern Player Stratocaster HSH

This guitar provides a more high-output alternative to the previously released HSS (humbucking and two single-coil pickups) model. It comes with a single coil middle pickup sandwiched by two humbuckers at the neck and bridge positions, which is a combination favored by high-gain enthusiasts. The body of this guitar is made of mahogany, a type of wood that’s not normally used on Strats, but are associated with humbucker equipped guitars. Other features include a modern C profile maple neck, 9.5″ radius rosewood fingerboard, 22 medium jumbo frets, two-point synchronized tremolo bridge with block saddles and a five-way pickup selector. The Modern Player Stratocaster HSH Strat comes in charcoal transparent or crimson red transparent finishes.

To go along with its dual humbucker pickups, the body is made from mahogany, carved into the distinct shape of the Jazzmaster. Other features of the Modern Player Jazzmaster HH inclulde a maple neck with C-shaped profile, 9.5″ radius maple fretboard with 21 medium jumbo frets and an Adjusto-Matic bridge with vintage-style floating tremolo tailpiece and tremolo lock button.
