The new semi-hollow body guitars expand the Montreal Premiere series with new variations – namely the P90, P90 w/Bigsby, TriplePlay and Deluxe(DLX) models.

Godin designed the Montreal Premiere series to look traditional and yet incorporate modern guitar building techniques. It is designed with a unique spruce “breath-through” carved core that promotes free airflow through the interior center block, which in turn improves the resonance and tone.

The first mentioned model is the new Godin Montreal Premiere P90 HG, it expands the series’ tonal options by incorporating a set of Godin Kingpin P90 pickups. The two single coil P90 style pickups and the guitar’s thinline body will add a bit of a bright vintage flavor to the tone. Instead of the soap bar tailpiece, Godin opted for a more old school looking custom tailpiece.

The Godin Montreal Premiere P90 w/Bigsby follows the same design and pickups as the P90 HG, the only difference being the addition of a Bigsby tremolo. This is no surprise because Godin is known for offering Bigsby equipped alternatives to many of their production guitars. This model is meant for guitarists that are looking for visual flair and the ability to play more expressively via vibrato.

The integration of Fishman’s popular TriplePlay wireless MIDI pickup system is what makes the Godin Montreal Premiere Sunburst TriplePlay stand out from among its peers. This technological sorcery turns magically turns this traditional looking guitar into a multi-voiced instrument, with the ability to play electric, acoustic and various shades of synth sounds.

Considered as, the “crème de la crème” model in the series is Godin Montreal Premiere Lightburst HG DLX. It sports fancy tonewoods that include a highly figured flame top, back and sides and a flame maple set-neck with bound headstock and Richlite fingerbboard. The Deluxe model comes equipped with two Custom Seymouor Duncan humbucker pickups, and features the new Graphtech Ratio tuned machine heads, which allow for consistent, stable and accurate tuning.

All the new models retain a straightforward set of controls that include a 3-way pickup selector, a master volume and master tone knob. The TriplePlay model will have additional controls for the hexaphonic saddle pickups and wireless MIDI settings. Other common features include having a 3/4″ scale length, double-bound binding and they all come with high-gloss custom polished finish.

Aside from the above mentioned guitars, Godin will also be introducing other new instruments. Check them out at the Winter NAMM Show in Room 211A from January 23rd to the 26th. Visit Godin Guitars for more information.
