The Charger 290 model joins the company’s limited edition models for fall 2014, continuing Reverend’s tradition of unveiling beefed-up versions of their popular models every fall. .

The most obvious upgrade that the limited edition model brings is the addition of a Bigsby B-50 tremolo, that features the company’s own soft-touch spring. Aside from adding more expressive control over your notes, it also compliments the overall vintage appeal of the instrument.

To separate it from the regular production model, the new Reverend Charger 290 LE will come in three special colors that include Lakeshore Gold, Metallic Red and Metallic Alpine Green, all of which come with cream pickguards and cream pickup covers to further enhance the instrument’s vintage appeal.

Another special feature in this limited run release is the addition of an exclusive Souldier Strap that matches each of the three finishes.

Like the regular version, this guitar comes with a body carved from Korina wood, the medium light-weight wood that Reverend is so fund of using on their instruments. The body is paired with the same maple neck and maple fretboard, which come with a medium oval profile. Standard measurements and specifications are retained for the Limited Edition model – the graphite nut is 43mm wide while scale length is 25.5″. The specs and the 22 medium jumbo frets are expected to give the guitar a traditional playing feel.

As for the pickups, the company mentioned that this guitar is loaded with two Reverend CP90s. These pickups are wired to a 3-way pickup selector, a master volume knob, a master tone knob, and a bass contour knob. The Bass contour knob is placed at the upper part of the guitar’s top, you can use it to to tighten up the low end or revoice the pickups as you see fit.

The official description says, “Loaded with Reverend’s CP90s, this model is fantastic for both clean and distorted tones – twangy enough for country, but thick enough for rock.

Other expected features include Reverend’s pinlock tuners and dual action truss rods. The company is planning to make only 14 guitars for each of the three finishes, in honor of the year 2014. This brings the total Charger 290 LE guitars to only 42.

The list price for the new Reverend Charger 290 LE is $1,199. Visit Reverend Guitars for further details and other information.
