Reverend Rick Vito Signature – Updated

Reverend Guitars updates the Rick Vito Signature, now available in Metallic Red and Lakeshore Gold finish.

Reverend Rick Vito Signature

This update is part of the three recently updated signature models from Reverend Guitars.

The new finishes were suggested by another guitar player, King Paris, who loved the guitar but wanted to make some visual changes to match his style. Reverend happened to appreciate the idea and ended up making the new finishes available for everyone.

Both the metallic lakeside gold and metallic red finishes come with the same specs as the original Rick Vito model, and are optionally available to come with a Bigsby bridge. The new colors highlight the guitar’s stream-lined look, and will give prospective buyers more palettes to choose from.

The Rick Vito Signature starts off with a korina body, carved into a “stream-lined” single cutaway shape, reminiscent of classic hot rod car designs. The neck is also made from Korina, topped by an ebony fretboard with 22 medium jumbo frets. The scale length of the instrument is 24-3/4″, while the fretboard radius is 12″.

Vito and Reverend teamed up to custom design the pickups used on this guitar, based on a 1960’s Supro pickup. The Dual-Pro bridge pickup is noteworthy, described by Reverend as “a hot single coil with a second blade polepiece in addition to the standard screw polepieces. Imagine P90 meets Tele with humbucker output… fat, raw and clear! And we fit it all into a standard size humbucker cover, a first in the industry”. The guitar comes with four knobs for shaping your sound – pickup blend, volume, tone and bass contour.

Other unique features of this guitar include bass contour, stairstep tuner buttons, pickup pan knobs and pin-lock tuners, which give the guitar a very pleasing look. Each Rick Vito Signature guitar comes with a special two-tone tapered guitar case to keep it safe and ready for the road.

Reverend also updated the Pete Anderson Signature and Gil Parris Signature models, in response to customer and artist requests. Joe Naylor, founder of Reverend Guitars, had this to say: “[Reverends are] influenced by the classics. The look is very important—you wear it—but it’s also a musician’s tool, and everything has to work. Everything continues to evolve for Reverend, and that’s part of our philosophy. The last Reverend is the best Reverend.”
